Slovak cloud in Dubai

Slovakia will be at the EXPO 2020 in Dubai
national exposure in a separate pavilion. The pavilion is designed as a metallic modular construction of easily removable modules and materials – can be reused in another location.

The theme of the World Exhibition in Dubai, which
will take place from 20 October 2020
by April 10, 2021, is futuristic:

In addition to the main idea, they were also created
three sub-themes: opportunity, mobility and sustainability.
Within these three themes, they will be individual

Architectural design

Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic
on October 5, 2018, announced an architectural competition
design of the Slovak exposition on the World
Expo 2020 in Dubai. To the competition
17 authors' teams joined and won

Martin Kusý Jr., Ľubomíra Blašková). winning
however, the team and the announcer did not agree
on the terms of further cooperation, in the sense
conditions of the competition started by the announcer
to negotiate with the other in turn. Negotiations were
successful in this case. Design author
which will represent Slovakia on the World
show in Dubai 2020, is Architectural
Atrium studio from Košice.
The exhibition of Slovakia will be presented at the exhibition
mobility with ambition to show
Slovakia as a modern good country
ideas. A landscape that can benefit not only
from traditions, but offers more and more creative
ideas, innovative inventions, quality
people and products capable of global enforcement
in the modern world. Preliminary estimate
all exhibition-related expenditure
the government of the Slovak Republic more
EUR 6.8 million.

The movement of ideas

Slovakia has historically had many merits
progress on mobility. It's not just patents
like a helicopter, a parachute or the first electric motor.
Progress is now known
in the field of air and road transport – aeromobil. Because most of our groundbreaking
patents are associated with aerial mobility,
the designers decided the subject of clouds
transform into our pavilion.
The pavilion is designed as a cloud of thoughts
representing a smooth movement that encourages
to stop, breath and dream. With lightness
materials provide a continuous cloud
movement and opportunity for the visitor to travel
only by lifting his eyes and allowing himself to be drawn
into his bowels. Walk around the pavilion
the visitor feels surrounded by a cloud of thoughts
her grandson is going to reveal his layers.
It will offer a pavilion in the form of a cloud of thoughts
visitors to the soul of our country. stability
and the certainty of the contours is a rich heritage
and the authentic culture and nature that makes up
the heart of Slovakia. This structure is made
from layering textures enriched with Slovak motifs
patterns that symbolize many different ways
aspects of our country. After dark on layers
unleashes a colorful play of lights reflecting
diversity of the country.
The authors designed the architectural design
to meet budgetary requirements
and to be feasible.
Already at this stage, the complainants approached the subject
pragmatically and consult with construction companies
and consultants in Dubai who are already
participated in other construction projects for
Expo. They compared the project by design
and delivery guidelines for Expo 2020
Dubai and also used previous experience
realizations.

Design solution

The pavilion builds on a rational, mobile,
modular, container architecture that
is ready at any time
transport and assembly and at the same time reflects its own
mobility theme.
The modules are placed lightly transparent
fabrics that are on the roof of the pavilion
and on its sides anchored by thin steel
Lanka. Such a construction will provide
their stability even in the event of worsened weather
conditions. In case of extreme
conditions such as desert
storm, the fabric can be rolled up.
Both the cloud itself and the Slovak pavilion
will evaporate after EXPO 2020. It is
Part of EXPO 2020,

Layout and materials

The pavilion is divided into exterior (Slovak
courtyard) representing imagination and interior
which builds on the rationality of Slovak ideas
and products (Made in Slovakia). Slovakia
the courtyard encourages visitors to meditate
tour. Waiting in this proposal means
movement and dialogue with space. This is
the central place where the world meets ours
country. Where experience continues and where
also the tour begins.
Podium placed in the middle of the road on
The promenade will host performances that
entertain visitors not only while waiting.
There will always be something to be observed in the courtyard – whether
the movements of the pavilion or the choreography itself.
The visitor is through a cloud of thoughts
and activities in the courtyard gets to the anteroom.
Here he finds an information desk with a children's corner
and business.
Selected visitors and VIP guests will arrive

on the first floor or in the offices
on the second floor. They are at the end of the pavilion
located technical rooms and warehouses together

discreet VIP entrance.
The goal of the pavilion was to introduce
logical, sensible and elegant approach in terms of
the visitor experience. It is above all
o minimize waiting problems before
at the same time offering a solution
to provide shielding and protection from
sun and heat, even by spraying
water vapor that complements the illusion of the cloud.
Last but not least, it has a proposed layout
aim to offer maximum flexibility,
especially in the temporary exhibition area
pavilion, using the most useful solutions
that offer technology in the Dubai market.
They chose most of the proposed materials
authors to create solutions that are fast

environment. On the other hand, they represent
admirable richness of Slovak culture in
all aspects of life.
The basis of the concept – cloud of thoughts – is
rendered with transparent substances symbolizing
temporary and moving. Metal modular
container construction is a symbol
solid foundation and practice. These materials are
easy to transport from Slovakia
respectively easy to procure in the United Arab
Emirates. So they appear to be the best
choice in terms of cost strategy and minimize
unpredictable circumstances.
